They look very bulky, but the soles are quite thin (both in thickness and in width), although the trademark skatey fat tongue and ankle support does feel it.
Overall, the colour is quite out there - very different from my current black racing boots. So I might not wear these out, but I’ll give a full review after next Wednesday’s Trackday!
Thats the Andrew (Boy) Charlton pool at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair. Its salt water which I have found to be much easier to swim in. I can do 30 laps (not in a row!) there, but I struggle to do 20 at a chlorine pool.
Swimming is very good I must say. I hate running, and find it hard to play team sports without a team, and I find swimming quite enjoyable. Its cool, needs concentration and pretty good for the upper body. Mostly though, you need to work on breathing!
You can normally find me at Macquarie Uni pool. Actually, I’m about to head off there now!
Guy Richie has done a great job - maybe he is back? I saw Revolver the other day, and thought it was pretty lame.
Holmes was witty with great dialogue, and the mystery kept me on my toes. At one point I started to believe that maybe there was no mystery, as the bad guy would have you suggest.
It’s a real love-hate movie though I think - of the 7 of us who watched it tonight, 2 absolutely loved it, and another 2 absolutely didn’t. Thought it was the worst movie of the year. I love that.
Driving down to Goulburn last weekend, I came across this new scary thing.
For about 5km from this sign, there are white painted lines on the ground every 500m. I got really scared and drove really slow. But is this like some sort of GPS speed tracking system? And if so, how the hell do they bust you if you go over the limit?
I watched Avatar last night, and it was really, really good. Possibly the best this year? (The problem with that statement is I usually forget what movies I even watched this year).
Of course, I watched it in 3D which is probably my own gripe - the 3D was awesome, but only as long as you decide to abide by its rules. I think its why a few people get headaches from watching it in 3D - you have to watch what the director wants you to watch, else your eyes will be trying to adjust your focus on something that you can’t actually focus on. But once you get used to it, it becomes totally normal.
The story wasn’t as bad as everyone made it out to be. Think Pocahontas on steroids. There is nothing wrong with a cliched hostile white v connected-with-nature aboriginal story when it is told in such a beautiful atmosphere - with a 15 minute helicopter fight scene.
So another surprise piece of news from Mercedes GP in that they signed Petronas as their title sponsor, “stealing” them from long term partners Sauber, and also from Lotus (which everyone thought they would hook up with).
From a business point of view, that is such a massive win for Mercedes. It’s one of those super exciting moments in ones career when you can pull off a coup like that.
But then again, is it really that big of a coup? Or is it more like stealing candy from a baby? Mercedes is a massive company, and Petronas will more than likely supply their cars with oil (which Mobil 1 does at the moment due to their sponsorship with Mclaren). So for Petronas, it would have been silly not to take the offer.
You could even say Petronas made the move, not Mercedes.
Update from last post: Richard Branson has challenged also new as an F1 boss Tony Fernandes, founder of Air Asia to a challenge. Whoever scores the least amount of points this year will have to serve as a stewardess on their rival’s airline for a day!
Gold! Already the Virgin brand has brought some fun into F1.
“Virgin has the naming rights to the team, so they will get the brand value and name recognition from the cars on the track, but they are not putting any money in. They are putting their brand in and the sponsors are partnering with them so they can access Virgin’s 100 million customers world wide and use the various Virgin channels to create brand awareness, or to make business to business sales.”
This to me just makes complete sense. And to think a company like Vodafone will spend $200mil to have half a naming right.
Thanks to @danokayalright, I went and checked out Google Chrome. I love it!
Lol, I love these small little touches that are just funny. The whole experience of Chrome from when I searched for it to downloading and using it was pretty awesome. I’m sold on great creative efforts too easy…
I tried to put this together ASAP after the Oran Park Trackday - I guessed the earlier it was released, the more relevant it would be? Anyway, it’s pretty rough, and I’m not that happy with it, but for a 2 hour cut together, I’m quite happy!
